About BankStmtConvert
A free, privacy-first tool that converts PDF bank statements into Excel and CSV — entirely in your browser, so your financial data never leaves your device.
What we do
BankStmtConvert turns messy PDF bank statements into clean, structured spreadsheets in seconds. It extracts every transaction — Date, Description, Debit, Credit and Balance — and lets you download the result as Excel (XLSX) or CSV, ready to import into QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, FreshBooks or Wave. It supports 50+ banks across the US, UK, Europe and Canada through an adaptive parser.
Why we built it
Every "bank statement to Excel" tool we tried asked us to upload the statement to a server. A bank statement is one of the most sensitive documents a person owns, and uploading it to an unknown cloud service felt wrong. So we built the opposite: a converter that does 100% of the work locally in your browser, using Mozilla's open-source PDF.js engine. Your file, and the transactions inside it, never leave your device. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
Who it's for
Accountants, bookkeepers, small-business owners and freelancers who need statement data in their accounting software without slow, error-prone manual retyping — and who care about keeping client and personal financial data private.
How it works
- Drop your PDF — drag a bank statement PDF onto the page.
- Local extraction — the parser detects dates, descriptions, debits, credits and balances, right in your browser.
- Download — review the table and export to Excel or CSV.
See our bank-by-bank guides for step-by-step instructions for your bank, or read the FAQ.
Why it's free
We believe everyone should be able to get their own financial data out of a PDF without paying or signing up. The tool is supported by unobtrusive advertising (see our Privacy Policy) so we can keep it free and unlimited.
Our privacy commitment
Local processing isn't a marketing line — it's the architecture. We never receive your statement, we require no account to convert, and we collect no financial data. Read the details in our Privacy Policy.
